SMD / SMT Adhesives

SMT adhesives, also known as SMD adhesives, are used on PCB printed circuit boards to apply components to the boards during the soldering process. It is used to join the components on the board to prevent displacement of components during the soldering process. The adhesive does not affect the function of the component or electronic circuit.

Protectronics SMD/SMT adhesives are based on epoxy resin formulation, which is a polymer that offers high hardness and mechanical strength when cured. It is necessary to use an oven or stove to cure the material, as it cures around 194oF / 90oC.

SMD adhesive can also be used for bonding BGA corners to increase the mechanical strength and reliability of BGAs and CSPs, providing extra resistance to vibration and assembly bending.The adhesive can be applied by automated machines or by manual application (using a hand gun).
