Silicone Gel Potting

Silicone gel resin for electronics is a condensation polymer that is obtained through polymerization reactions. Its main features are great flexibility, excellent adhesion, chemically inert, good electrical insulator, water repellent, long service life in harsh environments, good heat resistance and allows for voltage checking without the need for a rework. It is possible to “open” the gel, rework and release the gel, where it returns to its previous state naturally.

In the electronics industry, it is commonly used for telephone boxes, flow meters, boards that need a rework and will be exposed to vibrations and high humidity.
